Please join TNKR volunteer Peter Daley and writer/activist Rachel Stine as they host a night of music, prizes, and general happiness at The Alley Bunker bar in HBC on Saturday June 2 in aid of the worthy cause that is TNKR
Refugee participants in TNKR’s free English training program have gone on to write bestselling books, attend SKY universities, and even meet Hillary Clinton. As TNKR gets pushed out of its current office, we’re gonna rally the troops and make sure they have a financial boost.
The night will also see the debut performance of a new local covers band called Seoul Mates featuring vocalist Emilie Chardonnay, drummer Benjamin Jacquot, bassist François Bogusz, guitarist Peter Daley, and special guest saxophonist Tim Crawford.
Also performing throughout the night will be two great local acts: Machine 2 The Moon and Honey Jam Sam. Please check out their Facebooks:
The night will end with a free for all jam in which those able and willing will perform song requests for the low price of 10.000 a song. So put your thinking caps on for that special song you want to hear, and any and all attending musicians, please brush up on all those classics old and new. Songs can be requested in advance here on the event’s Facebook page.
The date also almost coincides with Rachel Stine’s recent birthday. Rachel has a long history of supporting defectors in South Korea and is heavily involved in almost anything and everything related to North Korea, human rights, and Pokemon Go.
Prizes for the night’s on-going raffle have been donated by generous local businesses. More details to come.
If you are unable to attend, but would still like to donate, please visit the event’s fundraising page:
