TNKR is seeking tutors to help North Korean refugees with learning English.  Join us for the Track 1 Orientation on Saturday July 21 from 2 PM at the TNKR Office (located near Gwangheungchang Station, Line 6). North Korean refugee Kang Chol-Hwan will be the featured speaker at TNKR's Book Forum on Saturday August 11 from 6 pm. He was born in 1968 in Pyongyang, North Korea, but at the age of 9, Mr. Kang was sent along with his family to Yodok Concentration Camp after his grandfather was accused of treason. TNKR will be holding a birthday fundraiser for Hwang Cheol (his birthday this year will be on October 21). He is the South Korean man whose father was abducted to North Korea in 1969 after a North Korean agent hijacked an airplane. Mr. Hwang has been lobbying for years to have his father released.
